Dave Sargalski

David Sargalski is originally from Windsor CT. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse University. Dave comes to the Office of Student Life with vast experience working with students during his ten years of service with the Department of Recreation Services. Dave enjoys working with students and assisting them in becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

Sarah is a native of Syracuse and received her bachelor’s in Marketing/Management and certificate in theatre from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Sarah completed her graduate degree in Counseling in Higher Education Settings from Syracuse University. Previously, she served as a Career Consultant and Graduate Assistant in the Center for Career Services and most recently as an Assistant Director in Student Activities at Syracuse University. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, classic cars and making people laugh. Currently, she looks forward to helping students grow and develop into leaders.

Courtney grew up in Liverpool, NY, a suburb just north of Syracuse. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2007. She completed her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Syracuse University in 2011. Before working in the Office of Student Activities, Courtney served as the receptionist in the Center for Career Services at SU, and as a student employee in the Office of Human Resources. In her spare time, she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and is currently serving as the Board President for Syracuse Ultimate. She is also a chapter advisor for the Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. She is excited to be working with the Orange After Dark program and looks forward to bringing more enriching programs to students both on and off-campus.
Mercy Lavado

Mercy was born and raised in Miami, FL. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Florida International University and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. As an undergraduate student, Mercy was the Overall Director for Homecoming Council and a sister and executive council member of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, which sparked her passion in pursuing a career in Higher Education. She has held various roles prior to working at Syracuse, acting as the advisor for Stetson University’s student programming board and Greek community. Mercy is the youngest of five siblings and loves to spend time with her large family and friends. She is looking forward to working with students to execute fun and memorable concerts, events and more!

Greg is originally from Marcy, NY, a suburb just north of Utica. He received his Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Real Estate from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management in 2012. While at SU, Greg had the opportunity to be a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, as well as study abroad in London, UK. He looks forward to bringing his passion for the University into his work and help foster the positive environment that he experienced.

Mary grew up not far from campus in Cazenovia, NY. She attended SUNY Fredonia, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics. It was in those four years at Fredonia where she found her passion for getting involved. During her college career, she had wonderful leadership opportunities such as serving as an Orientation Leader, Comptroller of her Student Association and Senior Class President. Mary received a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University at Buffalo. While doing her graduate work, Mary worked as the Graduate Assistant in the Student Involvement Center at Medaille College formulating, developing and implementing programs as the advisor for both the Student Activities Board and Commuter Student Council. Previously, Mary proudly served in the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs at Ithaca College assisting students through various involvement, community service and leadership initiatives on the Student Leadership and Involvement team. It is with so much excitement that Mary takes on the role of Program Coordinator in the Office of Student Activities. She’s looking forward to bringing her experience and passion for student activities and higher education into a career here at Syracuse University.

Lorena was born and raised on the north shore of Long Island in Glen Cove, NY before making her way upstate to pursue an education. She graduated from SUNY Cortland with Bachelor's degrees in both Sport Management and Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. While at Cortland, Lorena had the opportunity to work as a tour guide, an orientation assistant, director of marketing for a campus magazine, and as the major events chair for the Student Activities Board. Her favorite event she's ever worked was the 2014 NYC Marathon. Through her heavy involvement on campus Lorena realized her passion for working events and getting the opportunity to make others happy. She looks forward to immersing herself in the culture of Syracuse University and assisting in the growth of the Orange After Dark program.

Stephanie is originally from Chicago, IL, and has lived in Syracuse for 20+ years. Before coming to SU, she worked for 10 years at Onondaga Community College. She loves being around students of all ages. She also enjoys listening to and singing Jazz and contemporary Gospel and has performed with the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company.

Catherine 'Cate' O’Connor was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and grew up in the Hudson Valley. She attended SUNY The College at Brockport for her Bachelor’s in History and minor in Women & Gender Studies. While at Brockport, Cate was a Resident Assistant, worked for the Office of Community Development, studied abroad in Ireland, served as Recruitment Chair for the Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, and participated in the nationally recognized Leadership Development Program. At Syracuse University, Cate is working on her Master's in Higher Education. She is passionate about working with students, leadership, and event planning.
Nathan Elequin

Nathan Elequin was born and raised in Austin, TX, where he fell in love with educational theory as a result of his Classical background at Veritas Academy. He then pursued interdisciplinary honors at Baylor University in Waco, TX, obtaining Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Business Administration. While at Baylor, Nathan was known for his outspoken advocacy of first-year students and his founding of a unique student organization named "The Whatever" - a deliberative inclusivity effort for which he designed 250 hours of events. After discovering this passion for helping students find connection and adventure, he set his eyes on Syracuse University with the hopes of acquiring a new perspective on student affairs - along with a Master's in Higher Education. After driving 1,700 miles from Austin to his new home, Nathan is excited to apply his love for events programming and student leadership in his work with Orange After Dark and student organizations on campus.
