Dave Sargalski

David Sargalski is originally from Windsor CT. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse University. Dave comes to the Office of Student Life with vast experience working with students during his ten years of service with the Department of Recreation Services. Dave enjoys working with students and assisting them in becoming the leaders of tomorrow.

Sarah is a native of Syracuse and received her bachelor’s in Marketing/Management and certificate in theatre from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Sarah completed her graduate degree in Counseling in Higher Education Settings from Syracuse University. Previously, she served as a Career Consultant and Graduate Assistant in the Center for Career Services and most recently as an Assistant Director in Student Activities at Syracuse University. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, classic cars and making people laugh. Currently, she looks forward to helping students grow and develop into leaders.
Courtney Jones

Courtney grew up in Liverpool, NY, a suburb just north of Syracuse. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2007. She completed her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration at Syracuse University in 2011. Before working in the Office of Student Activities, Courtney served as the receptionist in the Center for Career Services at SU, and as a student employee in the Office of Human Resources. In her spare time, she enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, a passion developed during her time on Fox Force Seven, the SU women's team. She is also a chapter advisor for the Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. She is excited to be working with the Orange After Dark program and looks forward to bringing more enriching programs to students both on and off-campus.
Mercy Lavado

Mercy was born and raised in Miami, FL. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Florida International University and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. As an undergraduate student, Mercy was the Overall Director for Homecoming Council and a sister and executive council member of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority, which sparked her passion in pursuing a career in Higher Education. She has held various roles prior to working at Syracuse, acting as the advisor for Stetson University’s student programming board and Greek community. Mercy is the youngest of five siblings and loves to spend time with her large family and friends. She is looking forward to working with students to execute fun and memorable concerts, events and more!

Greg is originally from Marcy, NY, a suburb just north of Utica. He received his Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Real Estate from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management in 2012. While at SU, Greg had the opportunity to be a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, as well as study abroad in London, UK. He looks forward to bringing his passion for the University into his work and help foster the positive environment that he experienced.

Mary grew up not far from campus in Cazenovia, NY. She attended SUNY Fredonia, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics. It was in those four years at Fredonia where she found her passion for getting involved. During her college career, she had wonderful leadership opportunities such as serving as an Orientation Leader, Comptroller of her Student Association and Senior Class President. Mary received a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University at Buffalo. While doing her graduate work, Mary worked as the Graduate Assistant in the Student Involvement Center at Medaille College formulating, developing and implementing programs as the advisor for both the Student Activities Board and Commuter Student Council. Previously, Mary worked in the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs at Ithaca College assisting students through various involvement, community service and leadership initiatives on the Student Leadership and Involvement team. Mary serves as a Program Coordinator working closely with the student organizations, overseeing both the re-registration and new rso processes and all things leadership development, including overseeing the Women's Leadership Initiative.


Lorena Silva

Lorena was born and raised on the north shore of Long Island in Glen Cove, NY before making her way upstate to pursue an education. She graduated from SUNY Cortland with Bachelor's degrees in both Sport Management and Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. While at Cortland, Lorena had the opportunity to work as a tour guide, an orientation assistant, director of marketing for a campus magazine, and as the major events chair for the Student Activities Board. Her favorite event she's ever worked was the 2014 NYC Marathon. Through her heavy involvement on campus Lorena realized her passion for working events and getting the opportunity to make others happy. She looks forward to immersing herself in the culture of Syracuse University and assisting in the growth of the Orange After Dark program.


Jill Wulfenstein

Jill is originally from Pahrump, NV – a small town near Las Vegas. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences with emphases in Marketing and Mass Communications from Dixie State University and received her Master’s degree in College Student Personnel Services from the University of Central Arkansas. Jill began her career in student activities as a student at Dixie State, where she worked in PR and served as the Vice President of Student Life. She then went on to attend and work at UCA. During her tenure at UCA, she served as the graduate assistant for the SAB, and taught university studies coursework. She was also the NACA intern at the University of New England and recently became a member of Alpha Chi Omega. Jill spends most of her time laughing and dancing. She is looking forward to serving the students of SU and teaching them some of her sweet dance moves.

MaryJo grew up in Newburgh, NY, a suburb north of New York City.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Labor Relations & Human Resource Management from Le Moyne College in 1990.  As an undergraduate student, MaryJo was social chairman and volunteer coordinator of Pi Nu Epsilon Sorority.  Before working as an Office Coordinator, she worked in the Labor & Employment Law Department at Hancock Estabrook law firm.  Her passion is to volunteer at the Rescue Mission and “pay it forward” through community involvement.  She currently serves as the President of the Liverpool High School Girls Lacrosse Booster Club.  She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her daughters play lacrosse.  She is excited to be working at Syracuse University and is looking forward to interacting with students!
Marianna Maliani

Marianna grew up in Utica, New York, only 45 minutes away from Syracuse University. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Le Moyne College majoring in History with a minor in Philosophy and Human Resource Management. While at Le Moyne, Marianna spent time abroad living in Florence, Italy, and visiting countries around Europe. She is a graduate student at the School of Education at Syracuse University pursing her Masters in Higher Education. She previously worked at Colgate University in the Office of International Student Services. Marianna spends her free time enjoying outdoor activities such as beach volleyball. She is extremely excited to be joining the Orange After Dark team and looks forward to meeting new students on campus and helping to influence the fun and exciting atmosphere that she has grown to love here at SU.

Taylor grew up right outside of Syracuse in the suburb of Liverpool, NY. She received her Bachelor of Science in Media Management and Spanish from St. John Fisher College (SJFC) in Rochester, NY. She discovered her passion for Higher Ed through her roles as a Student Orientation Coordinator, the Hiring, Training, and Recruitment Coordinator in the Office of Admissions, and by sitting on multiple Executive Boards for student organizations at SJFC. She is enrolled in the Master of Science in Higher Education program here at SU, where she plans to make connections, inspire students, and grow as a professional in her position with the Office of Student Activities. Aside from Higher Education, she enjoys all things musical theatre, eating Chipotle, and traveling the world whenever she can.
